Teaching responsibilities

A teaching obligation (teaching load) applies to employees of the university with primary academic or artistic employment. According to § 4 sec. 1 and 2 LVVO (Teaching Obligation Ordinance) as well as § 3 sec. 2 of the guideline to the LVVO, the extent of this teaching obligation is determined semester by semester and compliance with it is documented. The teaching load is not determined for personnel without primary employment at the university or third-party funded employees of the university.

Teacher evaluation form

Each semester, the teacher receives a teacher evaluation form in which the extent of the teaching duties according to § 4 LVVO, their official employment assignment, the courses according to §§ 3 and 5 LVVO as well as §§ 8 and 9 of the guideline to the LVVO and their teaching compensation according to § 5 sec. 3 LVVO are documented.

The teacher is obliged to check the information in the teacher evaluation form and to complete or correct it with regard to the courses actually taught. The final information has to be confirmed by the teacher.

Dates and deadlines

The time frame for the LVVO evaluation forms for winter semester 23/24 is as follows:

• dispatch to the teachers (lecturers): probably in the 11th week
• deadline for returning the LVVO evaluation forms (including supervisor confirmation): 30-04-2024.

When returning the countersigned PDF to the LVVO representative (lvvo@rektorat.uni-halle.de), please use the subject: "Rücksendung Erhebungsbogen - WiSe 2023/24".

Teaching responsibilities

Under the conditions of § 5 sec. 3 LVVO, the teaching obligation can be fulfilled on average over three consecutive academic years, if at least half of the teaching obligation is fulfilled in each individual semester.

The documentation of the teacher’s teaching compensation is done on the teacher evaluation form.
