Comparison of equipment, costs and performance
Since 2002, MLU has been participating in a key indicator-based equipment, cost and performance comparison, which is carried out every two years under the leadership of DZHW (Deutsches Zentrum für Hochschul- und Wissenschaftsforschung).
The aim of the AKL is to help those involved in science policy to objectify and empirically substantiate political and internal university discussions and to make a contribution to supporting university management.
The increased requirements for reporting on the efficiency and transparency of the use of public funds are met by comparing similar business units in the project reports on the basis of key figures. It also contains information on the cost structures and performance of the different types of degrees (Bachelor, Master, traditional degrees).
In addition to the MLU, the following universities are currently participating in the AKL:
- FU Berlin
- Free University of Berlin
- University of Bielefeld
- University of Greifswald
- Humboldt University Berlin
- University of Rostock
- Technical University of Berlin
- University of Bremen
- University of Magdeburg
- HafenCity University Hamburg
- University of Flensburg
- Technical University Hamburg
- University of Kiel
- University of Hamburg
- University of Lübeck
Representatives of the AKL participating universities and science ministries of each participating country accompany the project work in a steering group. All important decisions regarding the objectives and the methodological development are made here. The project is financed by the participating countries.
