Welcome and Networking Days 2025

The focus of the 2025 Welcome and Networking Days for Junior and Tenure-Track Professors was academic teaching.

Starting a junior or tenure-track professorship often means being immediately involved in teaching, as this is part of the qualification process for a permanent professorship and is also legally mandated by the Teaching Obligation Ordinance. It is therefore one of the first things that needs to be organized.

The event addressed what needs to be considered in this context and how to manage it successfully, who the relevant contacts are, and what support structures are available at MLU (Martin Luther University).

The following MLU speakers were available for exchange on these topics:

Office of the Vice-Rector for Studies and Teaching

Ms. Friederike Jeschke-Stolzenberg, Dipl.-Soz., has been head of the Teaching Evaluation Unit in the Office of the Vice-Rector for Studies and Teaching since 2003. She supports and advises faculties, teaching staff, and students in the process of quality assurance, particularly in the area of teaching evaluation. Since 2023, she has also served as advisor for quality development in studies and teaching.

Center for Multimedia Teaching and Learning (LLZ)

  • Dr. Christian Dette is the coordinator for electronic examinations and also manages the Examination Center at MLU.
  • Wenke Lungenmuß is the coordinator for training programs aimed at promoting the digital competencies of teaching staff.

Dr. Dette and Ms. Lungenmuß have been working at the LLZ since 2012. As a central institution of MLU, the LLZ supports the use of multimedia tools in teaching and learning. This includes, in particular, advising and assisting instructors in planning and implementing appropriate teaching and learning formats and electronic assessments, as well as providing information and training opportunities. In collaboration with instructors, the LLZ develops new teaching methods based on fundamental didactic principles.
